Our Vision and Mission

Change Summer believes in every child’s right to accessible, enriching summer experiences filled with joy and opportunities to develop critical skills for a successful future. We provide young people from under-resourced communities with a summer experience that increases their confidence, curiosity, independence, and responsibility.

Joy

We center our summer camp experience on joy, and we believe joy is an act of resistance. We keep the joyful camp feeling close throughout the year, helping our campers excel.

Fairness

We make decisions with equity as our guiding principle, actively considering diverse perspectives and ensuring transparency in how resources are distributed.

Support

Our community is only successful when each camper and team member is successful, so we step up and step in to provide support, and we ask for help when we need it.

Evolution

We approach everything as a pathway for continuous growth and improvement; we are consistently learning, growing, and developing as an organization.

Closing the experience gap one summer at a time

Change Summer partners with leading school organizations to provide students from under-resourced communities with a fantastic, two-week overnight camp experience on a college campus. Our campers have the opportunity to build a tight-knit community in a safe, inclusive setting that allows for exploration, learning, and fun.

Through intentional daily programming that includes a variety of engaging activities, campers learn about themselves and each other as they experience living away from home. Our ultimate goal is to provide an exciting summer experience that helps our campers develop their social and emotional skills to better prepare for high school, college, and beyond.

Expanding our impact each summer

Change Summer was founded with the intention of providing the summer camp experience to children in the community who may otherwise not have the opportunity to attend. The lessons learned here can be applied to kids’ lives yearround.
